Now that pot is fully legal

It just doesn't seem as fun.

I must be lucky, because where I live I still have to hook up with my dealer on the street, always wary of police arresting me.

Cannabosum

Has legit medical prescription but CAUTION ... everything in its right place and balance. For example aspirin (a.s.a.) is an age-old medicine originally extracted from the bark of the willow tree, but misuse of a.s.a. will quickly blow a hole in your guts and likewise; misuse of weed (especially mis-bred strains) will quickly blow a hole in your judgement .... The ill informed sloganize "the bottle and the needle kill but weed has never hurt anyone." Not true ! ... I have witnessed youth overdoing weed & getting caught on the slippery slope of heart/mind fracture (mistakenly called mental illness) & i witnessed others inebriated stupit behind weed; make street ethic mistakes getting them killed dead.

Barely-Legal

"Fully Legal"? that's a laugh.

Enough Already!

Weed has never been a big deal here. I used to smoke fat joints on west broadway in full view of cops and they didn’t give a shit. This was in the ‘90s-‘00s. I used to carry ounces of weed around with me everywhere. My ex was a weed dealer and carried massive amounts around and never got “caught” because no one gives a damn!

It's a good measure of a society - how much time it spends ruminating (yes, that's the correct term) about things that are absolutely trivial and boring.
Some stuff that you smoke, or eat, or whatever. Over 70 percent of the demand this year will be supplied by the black market, same as it ever was. So easy to grow, many people make their own. Something called "weed" is not that hard to produce.
If you want to experiment on yourself with it, fill your boots.
Others will hold it against you - no different than a tobacco or drinking habit, or obsessive masturbation, or cutting, or any other psychological, habitual or chemical dependency.
Your life, your choice. No sympathy. No consideration.
No interest.
My opinion of someone varies inversely according to how much they talk about this sort of thing. Going on about your habits is just another form of pathological self-involvement. Art, culture, philosophy, world events, science, history, nature... yes, please. This, not so much.

I have to say

Being a parent with small kids (and an occasional (a few times a year) pot smoker when my kids are not around) I don’t like to smell it on the street, or outside a shopping centre etc. Especially when I’m with my kids, it’s not cool, maybe when I was in my 20s partying etc but as an adult, people should not be smoking in public around others...keep it classy people

Some people "go on" about their hobbies to try and find other people who have the same hobbies to do them with.

True/False:
Habitually drinking alcohol is a "hobby", and "alcohol culture" is a thing. Ditto smoking tobacco.
We already know Cannabis Culture (tm) is a thing - marketing and media (really one and the same these days) told us so.
Perhaps my definitions of "hobby" and "culture" are a bad fit for society here. Fair enough, because those who consider these things hobbies and expressions of culture, would not be good company for me (and vice versa). I find hese topics terribly limiting, but I'm not a weed enthusiast, tobacco lover, or wine connoisseur.
But I also consider FB (and social media in general) vapid and egotistical. So what do I know?

Tell me about marine biology, astrophysics, geopolitics, economics, neurochemistry, the Louvre, historical Europe, Machu Picchu, Angkor Wat, Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef...hell, even Joburg, and I'll forget to go to the bathroom for hours, just to listen.
Talk to me about drugs (or other chemical habits) and I'll drop out in under 5 seconds.
