Dear Old Ladies

It's not a personal attack that my stride is longer and I'm going to pass you on the trail. I finished at the same time as yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that, and the day before that. Don't make it weird.

....but then I thought nahhh, this person obviously did something ignorant that caused a subsequent reaction, and if they’re too dense to comprehend that, then there’s no point in trying to reason with them.

Yes I know, but that's just what happens as you age. If you're having trouble with that, talk to a counsellor about it, instead of taking it out on everyone else.

You'll be getting older and less mobile some day, so don't bully the seniors that are doing their best.

From my perspective, you seem to be making it weird.
FYI: I bet you'll look back on this with embarrassment when you get older.

Qualifies as old? I'm in my 50s and still pass people on my bicycle or on the trails. If you're talking about someone in their 80s, well if you're fast the world won't end if you try being nice too.
