Work is draining me. I work retail, minimum wage plus commissions. This arrangement was great for a few years because I was taking home close to 40k a year after income tax (not bad for averaging 20-30 hours per week)
In store sales are dropping quarter after quarter (online is booming!) which means my paycheque is getting smaller and yet my work load is growing. I realised I don’t give a shit anymore and have stopped putting in any effort because the company doesn’t care about us, so why would we care about the company. If they wanted to retain loyal employees they would raise our base wage but nope!
Starting a new job search after I post this.
