Renting

Why do I have to pay for utilities when heat and hot water is an essential part of renting that the landlord has to give me? No one offers laundry. I could care less about cable tv. I’ll get my own internet. What utility do you want me to pay for? You landlords are fucking high for wanting $1000+ for a tiny suite. That’s another thing. There’s lots of good tenants out there but you landlords won’t let tenants smoke on the property either weed or cigarettes. I hate how much you use your devices but I don’t stipulate to you how much you should be using them. Both have health concerns. Give smokers a goddamn break, eh. For Christ’s sake I’m under enough goddamn stress and all I’m getting is rejected. Fuck all of you landlords.

Finally a Russian Troll worth reading about and laughing about.

Only a renter would say those things

Because:
1) Smoke wrecks the inside of the place. Ever stay in a smoking permitted hotel room? The pillows/blanket/toliet paper are infused with a disgusting smoke smell
2) Heat and hot water are bills that need to be paid by the property owner therefore you have to pay your share towards them too

Pretty obvious

Utilities vary with consumption so you pay more if you consume more but cable and Internet usually has a fixed cost for unlimited access so they can be shared.

Sorry, dude

As a landlord, I get to choose who I want sharing my living space. I'm quiet, I respect my tenants' privacy, I take very good care of my suite and fix things immediately, and I charge a very fair rent with all utilities included. It's in my interest to do so because I need the rental income. I'm not rich. I've had tenants with pets who left dog shit all over the yard, cat hair in the shared laundry that got on my clothes, and tenants who smoked up the suite so that my place stunk. No more smokers and no more pets. If you don't like my rules, you don't have to rent from me. Or else quit smoking.

Uh...

... you sound like a real loser. I would never rent to you because I could pick a reasonable tenant. Smoking is not allowed in many buildings nowadays, this is just the way it is.

Have a word with yourself

Are you seriously comparing smoking to using a fucking iPad?! Using a device has zero impact on anyone else in the building. Smoking inside ruins furnishings and why should others have to put up with the smell infiltrating their homes?! Second hand smoke can kill people. Using a phone does not. Go outside like everyone else. And while you're at it maybe have a word with yourself about your attitude....that's probably why you're getting nowhere.

Hey guys...

The OP never said anything about smoking inside...but some of you immediately went there... maybe there’s a problem with YOU. Maybe he meant outside? Just a thought...*shakes head*

"I want to take long hot showers twice a day and crank the heat even when I'm not there and leave all the lights on...but I don't want to pay for utilities!!"

The problem is a lack of rental housing

When vacancy rate is less than 1%, landlords have all the power in their relationship with tenants and will act like scum. The only way we get out of this is by building more rental housing.

Maybe

you could declutter, destress and move into an outdoor camp where there are no utility and rent fees. Then you can do what you want when you want in the sanctity of your very own hovel.
