Routine visit to the family doctor

Has anyone else got a family doctor who refuses to prescribe any form of marijuana by saying that it lacks sufficient data or research to qualify as any kind of drug they feel safe to offer? My question is, how do they account for the numerous side effects and early deaths, mishaps and damage caused by today's legally prescribed, well documented drugs that they do continue to offer to patients and often to their detriment. If you are prescribed something that causes side effects there is no way to really turn back the clock, and doctors are well aware that people have turned to marijuana and cannabis products for decades in recent times and they could actually do research on that. Thinking about all the medical scandals that take place on a routine basis, not to mention the scandals in politics, religion and government in general it seems so petty to deny average hardworking people access to medical marijuana for their ailments and to deny the harm that many common drugs do far beyond anything that has ever happened with cannabis etc. Go figure.

You don't need a prescription for marijuana here anymore. There are plenty of dispensaries around with great knowledge and good prices. My doctor won't prescribe anything anymore, either. Not even T1's. She doesn't want to get sued so I just take things into my own hands and research EVERYTHING myself. Truth is, your health is not your doctor's concern; it's your own. Nobody is going to care about your body like YOU, so if marijuana helps, get out there and go get some.

Why do you need a prescription from a doctor? Just go buy some.

Big pharma doesn't pay doctors to push marijuana.

Perhaps you haven't been keeping up with the news, but marijuana has been legal in Canada since last year and therefore you longer need a doctor's prescription to access it.

There is one in Vancouver that is still asking for a medical doctor's note even after legalization!

My physician...

... did it for me when she was in private practice, like, in her own office. When she moved into one of those "clinic offices" with some faceless corporation managing things, she stopped doing it, telling me it was against their policy due to their strange view of insurance.

You only need an Rx if you want to go to the BCCCS (I think they still require a note) or if you want to grow more than 4 plants. Otherwise, there is really no need to have a license.

T1s do not require a prescription. They are over-the-counter. Just ask the pharmacist.

Even before it was legalized, you could get a confirmation of diagnosis. You never needed a prescription.
