ever since weed was legalized

it is more difficult than ever to buy and I am beginning to suspect that the government prefers to persecute marijuana users until they completely control the situation, at least as far as the profits go. I mean, can you imagine if the government suddenly pointed to all the studies on alcohol and the damage done and said no more beer for you - what would people do? I think that 420 represents the cannabis consumer because it will be a protest, that if nothing else legalization has corrupted and threatens to eliminate our beloved BC growers who currently distribute life saving cannabis to the people rather than hold out for the highest dollar per gram. The situation here in BC absolutely deserves the right to protest but if the authorities do not think so they should try to take everyone's alcohol and then when they do allow the alcohol make sure it is nothing like the original, and charge everyone double or more you can bet it would be much more than a protest.

You may have a point. I still think the “protest” is much more like an unlicensed and un-paid for festival, where the main benefits are going to the merchants, but you do have a point.

If I didn’t use Cannabis to help deal with my chronic pain, I’d probably be long dead from suicide or a statistic from the opioid crisis.

On all levels, want a piece of the action, which translates into having a monopoly on the cannabis industry
Cypress Hill is entertainment not protest.

It's a festival and the "leaders" should have to pay the 2 to $300.000 dollars in policing and cleanup and find appropriate land to hold a festival like any other music festival. By calling it a protest the leaders are dodging the financial responsibilities of policing, cleanup and pocketing the money. Why should the taxpayer subsidise those festival goers entertainment and business?
Not a protest

You don't sell booths and sponsorship options to protestors. It's a one day illegal weed and music festival.

Totally has a point. There happens to be a lot of people that support this protest..the rollout of legalization by federal and provincial governments is the equivalent of shitting the bed. Cannabis users are still being persecuted and fucked around. The people that still argue that a protest isn’t warranted haven’t a clue what they are talking about. Prices went up as much as 57% in some cases and access is shit..they had plenty of time to figure this out.

The "main benefits" are going to the buyers and sellers, the buyer gets the goods he wants and the seller makes a profit. Plus there is the free entertainment. The issue in general is "why should anyone need a permit to make a living?" Do you have to pay for your life?
If people don't like it

Did I forget to mention that I’ve been using weed for decades? I still don’t see this as a protest, but I agree that legalization has made things worse. That’s why I will continue to buy from the same suppliers that I’ve been buying from for years. I just don’t believe that this event is fair to all of those other events that have to pay huge costs. Let’s play fair. Even if an event has a liquor license they still have to follow laws and they pay big money to have it.
