I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss the TTC

There, you pay, you travel. End of story. And token takers just rule from behind glass. Here transit is open and it takes 2 transit security plus 2 fully-armed cops to interrogate people they feel safe bullying. Meanwhile people theyr'e scared of or know they can't squeeze for money get to ride for free. I've been shoved through turnstiles on my ticket by aggressive homeless, cops did nothing. Same when I sat on a seabus once with an out of control drunk they let on as is, chasing people from one end to the next. No problem though laying down the law with working poor and minorities, little old ladies, teens or anyone who just don't understand Compass with $173 tickets.

We all pay taxes, fund transit with it, no more tickets and shakedowns. Just get on and off where and when you need to. Very tourist friendly.

The biggest joke. I commute every day on the bus and sky train. Where are they?! Where??? I’ve seen incidents that almost escalated in hardcore violence against transit users. We are alone on the transit system, it sure feels like it.

You have clearly never left the lower mainland. Our transit system is a joke. Poorly executed and managed, cities across the world have far superior systems in place - including Toronto.

It's a corrupt and inefficient organization- they expect you to put up and shut up. Don't be though- I'm not, I speak my mind if I experience rude transit employees- or I make a written complaint to Translink.

it’s another obnoxious Ex-Torontoian bitching about Transit. Next week it’ll be about the rain or lack of taxis or cost of bananas. While our transit system isn’t the greatest, I would hardly say yours is supreme. I always ask “Why did you leave?”. Same bs different day. Just like all the other idiot tourists here, please go back and don’t return, your making the rest of us suffer with your whining.

Actually lived in T.O. It was rank with corruption in the housing and job sector...it always is every time Conservatives are at the helm but people have a short-term memory on many things that leave me baffled...like yours on how the TTC kept breaking down...all. the. time. And how bus transit was far worse. Plus, add six months of winter when that happens. All that nightmare with great regularity. With that in mind, you know that I truly know what I'm talking about. We're not perfect but our system is far better. So...uh...flights leave daily. You should go on one.

I read that just over half of transit funding is from the fare revenue. Transit should not be free. I don’t want my property tax to go up, as well as gas prices to fund a free transit ride for someone. I think they should be able to lower the fine if the person can show they’re low income, but it should remain illegal to evade the fare.
