IS it normal to bump into people?

Some days, as I walk in a straight line on the sidewalk, some people veer into my direction. Sometimes I just play chicken and sometimes I bump into them and continue to walk. 99% of the time, I move out of the way for a ton of people... but sometimes, it's just insane... it is as if people are trying to make you move... I don't mind bumping into these people. Does this happen to you?

Hasn't happened yet, but I have that "don't fuck with me" look. The kind of look that Bruce Willis usually has in his movies.

Cuz it happens to me all the time.
I’ll be walking by myself and 3 people are walking abreast directly at me.
I ain’t moving folks, one of you is getting a not so subtle shoulder check.

I’m very tall and way more than 200 lbs. I would think they see me and wouldn’t want to run into someone larger than them. So I move. Not a good look to steam roll someone at a cross walk. If that’s a win for them so be it. I move by choice.

When walking you're supposed to stay to the right except to pass, when there is no oncoming pedestrian traffic, then you move out to the left, and once you pass, you move back to the right.

I live in a city much like Vancouver but much more crowded. I use two rules. (1) To stay on the side I am supposed to be (left in this particular country) and I literally stop when someone gets in my way and blocks my path. Stopping is best because I've never had anyone bump into me or get into an altercation. There's no reason to shoulder-check people just because I'm on the 'correct' side. Only assholes do that. People will simply see I'm not going to move and move around me. Often they are on their phones and look surprised and sometimes apologetic. (2) I move out of their way if they are OLD or handicapped. But f*ck stroller moms. They are always super entitled, and they can move to the correct side like everyone else.
