Library Book

I've had a book in mind for some time. To be honest I was attracted by the cover illustration and I can only guess as to what's inside. But I think despite it's slim size it would be the kind of intellectual book you don't race through in a single read, but enjoy slowly over time. Unfortunately I must not be the only person interested because it's continually checked out and the cover (from the glimpses I've caught in the recall section) is starting to look a bit rough. I'm worried now that if I am able to borrow it one day, I might not be able to focus on the story because I'll be too distracted by all the dirty fingers that leafed through it already...

I like older books. Even Shakespeare and like that.
Shiny new stuff is mostly the shiny these days. Once that wears off, there's nothing left.
But then again, I've read "The Lord of the Rings" and THHGTTG more than seven times, so I'm a bit weird.
When I find something I like, that has a lot of meaning for me, it usually keeps well.

You have a library card, you know the name of the book, log in to the VPL site (your pass word is the last four digits of your phone number), and reserve the book. You can also specify which library you want to pick it up at. The library robot will phone you when it's
ready. You're welcome.

One more thing:
I'm not with the literalists on this one.
Used "books" are my preference, figuratively speaking. More "replay value" that way.

Got it.

Leave the book for someone who truly wants to enjoy it, not for its physical history. You don't deserve the experience.

cool story

I suspect this confession has nothing to do with an actual book.

Not always as it seems

I don't think this confession is really about a library book...

Before you judge another book by how many dirty fingers have leafed through it, ask yourself how many books have you leafed through yourself? Do you have dirty fingers too? You have no right to demand a perfectly clean book unless you’re a perfectly clean book yourself.
