Life is too short to care what others think.

People are often too busy these days. Friendships are hard to maintain, especially for young people, considering that you have to work at least 2 jobs to get by - any extra time is devoted to self-care, decompressing. Does not have anything to do with you; most people are stuck in their own heads to probably give a damn.

Or maybe welcome to millennialism? I work 4 jobs and have lost touch with most of my friends. I barely talk to anyone I don’t work directly with. It’s a shame but I’m too tired to hang out with anyone. I grew up here and used to have hundreds of friends. It wasn’t always like this.

I got tired of this too. I used to have friends at work and it was much easier to make friends in the past, but it's now getting harder and harder. I don't know what's going on... perhaps it's the technology and social media, but people become more and more shallow and self-absorbed and I miss the old times when it was more simple. At some point, I also got tired and gave up. I am fortunate to have a loving partner and I don't feel lonely all the time, but it wouldn't hurt to have a few good, trustworthy friends or at the very least to have some people to have fun with together.
