Can 4/20 stop? I don't want to pay 1 million in policing costs and repairs for their stupid festival. Smoke your fucken weed elsewhere.

Dan offers some advice on where she might find it.
We both abruptly stopped on the corner of W Hastings/Cambie near the park and seamlessly started...

There's the argument 4/20 is the weed lover's equivalent of Pride. Which is insulting and ignorant on so many levels I can't even...but that's the excuse.

No I'll smoke my weed where I want to. I bet you never complained once about the astronomical costs of the war on weed we waged for a century, or the personal costs for all the people who still have criminal records for smoking weed. Sit down.

Whoever is putting it on should fence the area off,and charge $5 admission. All proceeds go to the city.

By all means, celebrate your hard-won rights. While respecting the hard-won rights of others. But do it on your own dime.

The city denies them a permit, because smoking isn't allowed in parks, and furthermore their presence interferes with the normal operation of the Aquatic Centre. They organize the event there anyhow, presumably out of some sort of feeling of entitlement, and the lure of lots of money to be made selling dope.

Whose "hard-won rights" are we disrespecting? The right to police surveillance?
Where is our government on this?
Apr 12, 2019 at 2:37pm
It's a waste of taxpayers' funds, uses expensive resources, and stresses the neighborhood. I don't want it, I'm sure others who live here don't unless they charge for its presence and pay for the security , cleanup and any other resources it burns through.
I vote. Where is our government? Why is this being allowed?
