Trying to do more yoga

I really am. I just need to find the time. It would be nice if they weren't so spiritual though. Couldn't we just do it to 80s aerobics music instead? Maybe instead of spiritual terms, the correct biological anatomical terms could be used?

I thought I was alone in this. I recently quit a similar program for the same reason. I just wanted to learn the skill, but we had to do mediation first and then later, an uncomfortable touchy feely component. I'm not there to share that with unfamiliar people. And dance, can't we just have dance exercise with fantastic music? You know, raw, enthusiastic, inspired energy? All the offerings where I go emphasise a quiet "spiritual" angle. No thank you.

Are the ones that take the approach you describe – less spiritual, more anatomical. The spiritual element is more up to the individual to include, imo.

YouTube yoga can be nice and accessible (and more brief than an in-person class to fit tight schedules).

There are also some reasonably priced monthly subscription services available for streaming/downloading classes that are of higher quality – just search around the web.

Good luck! May we be calm and limber.

Try a different studio or teacher - It's not heavy on the spiritual everywhere!

A lot of yoga feels very cultist to me. Tired of the spiritual, pseudo-woke, new-age bullshit.

The words "culture" and "appropriate" were appropriated from the Latin culture. I would appreciate if you would use native English words without the taint of cultural appropriation if you are going to discuss cultural appropriation.

“Can’t it be less spiritual?”

It’s a form of exercise based in a spiritual practice?

I agree, try stretching or Pilates instead.

Of course, you do realize that the english language is a fusion of french and german. When it comes to cultural appropriation, we are all labeled as such. It's the pot calling the kettle a term that defines the absence of color. I am aware of the latin language but please enlighten me on the "latin culture".

Read a history book. Everyone appropriated everything. Thought police in action.

I Stick to online videos specifically Fightmaster yoga. She still uses the proper terms for poses but I don't find it super spiritual.
