I wish I were more popular

I find that you have the choice of either doing what you want and enjoy alone or doing what someone else wants to do regardless of how much it appeals to you. I almost always say yes to any invites I get regardless of the event or activity and I commit to those invites. But, for love or money, I can't get people to want to do what I would like to do. And it's not like I enjoy weird, impossibly-hard, or boring pursuits.

Tell them even if you think they won't and if that's the case, ask one simple question "Do you love me?"

What are your hobbies that are so unique that you couldn't find anyone else to join? I get wanting to have friends who share your interests but surely it's not that hard to find participants?

Friend #1- Hey wanna hang out tonight?
Friend #2- Sure! Come over to my place!

For instance, I like hiking. Sometimes hard hikes (which I understand will appeal to fewer people) and easy hikes. Perhaps it's the time commitment. Or the fact that people just can't commit at all in this city.
Just a thought...

How about joining a hiking club?

People are so flaky. Whenever I do something, they'll say, "where was my invite?". So next time I invite them, and the next and the next, do you think they ever come? It's like people want to seem like they're cool and into do all sorts of things, they're not.
