Work Friends

I work in a globalized field where most of the people who are employed are from another country. I'm a Vancouver local and have my own life but their only friends are only people who either worked with or went to college with them. At the end of the day, I am not my industry and don't really want to do tons of activities with people from it.

Are you lying to them telling them you’re out climbing the Chief or hiking up to Joffre Lakes or smashing the trails in NVan? Happy to hear you know you need a life but maybes theirs are more exciting than yours even though you’re a ‘Local’ and you don’t even know it. Or are you saying your a local but actually are another Toronto transplant? You’re forgiven. If your a local, get your work pals together to smoke a bowl then go drumming down at 2nd Beach like a true eh hmm local.
