Anyone else notice how "1984" is not a bad thing any longer?

It's amazing how easily we've accepted Govt and corporate monitoring and surveillance of every aspect of our lives..all under the guise of keeping us "safe".....glad I'll be gone from this earth before we truly get The Hunger Games...

Don't even know who Orwell was. Too busy swiping, sexting and eating avocado toast while deciding their gender for the week. Humanity is doomed.

Move far enough away from the "action", and it may work out as you say. That's what I'm doing.
It's easy to see where all the action is. Look at the MSM, count the number of times every country is mentioned, and move to where those frequently mentioned countries aren't.
The choice is simple. Implementation is tricky and time-consuming.
Worth it.

It won't be like...

... the Hunger Games. If you want to see what it will be like, just look at China today, or in 1989.

There's an article on the CBC website. https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/tiananmen-square-canada-sinologist-reflect...

""I got a pedicab with a wild-haired driver. Completely silent, very little light. About a dozen tanks, plus personnel carriers, hundreds of soldiers. Tanks pointing their guns in all four directions," she wrote in her diary.

"The driver was turning round constantly and asking me whether this was fascism or not.""

Who would have to ask? The Government was shooting at students in the street, in order to suppress the development of democracy and free presses. But in Canada, just a few years after 1989, we lost our freedom of speech and writing (and press), in 1993.

And they didn't even need to shoot at us. I guess we got the message from seeing them shoot at them in China.

Actually in Canada there are very strong privacy laws in place, in face two government agencies can not even link databases to try to tie us to our lives. There are agencies and privacy people all over Canada making sure that our privacy rights are not violated. You can actually research the FOI or FOIPP in BC and get a lot of information about what your privacy rights are.

Our generation

is disgusting. They're turning us into a Chinese authoritarian state. People in Taiwan must watch us and shudder.

Some are just better than others.
Love George Orwell's Animal Farm.
Hypocrisy at it's finest!

The "thought police" and "fun police" have been trying to control us for decades in the workplace. Those who don't conform to their nazi regime shall be harassed until they quit or say something to get fired! So much "constructive dismissals" taking place. Makes me so fucking sick.

The Left got hold of the education system then systematically dismantled everything except political propaganda and now the young adults know nothing but fake news and lies lies and more lies.
