I confess I’m on a news boycott for a while

My mental health is suffering: Trump, dead babies in hot cars, Trump, huge increase in hate crimes, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, Trump.... It’s getting to me. No social media, no news, just my books, movies and music for the next several weeks. I’m retired so I can pull off my “hermit” decision.

Corporate Brainwashing

You've been brainwashed with baseless labels used to coverup the corruption of those doing the labeling.

New article today says "RED ALERT" looking for two guys (serial killer types), In Manitoba then a big old Fuzzy picture of them to identify the killers was shown.. So it goes on to say, On the opposite page of the article" So while looking for these men we spotted a bear" and theres a big ass picture of the bear..
Really cool bear pic. but maybe more clearer pictures of the horrible killers would help catch them or identity them better, quicker.( than a wild bear pic.)
Newpaper so helpful.

where you get your news but I mostly read local news, and there's rarely any mention of Trump. When I was a kid, I hated watching tv or read the newspapers because it was mostly bad news. I was very sheltered as a result. Now, I'm not as sensitive, and I check it everyday. It's not just bad news. This is not new.

More likely you'll die in an automobile accident than be picked off by serial killers.

Do we get daily updates on every deadly automobile accident? I know a few cops, people get _decapitated_ in car accidents in the lower mainland, and we don't get the whole horror story---bad for the automobile companies, I guess.

how about....

Hmmm...no reason to dwell on bad news, but I'm not a fan of sticking one's head in the sand.
I have had heated family arguments over my debating various hot button news topics at the dinner table- just who I am. What else is relevant to discuss? Only so many times that I can ask how someone's child is doing at the local soccer tournament. They claim my conversion is too negative for dinner conversations. Turns out these extended family members are the same types who have to start everyday with an affirmation of self worth on their mirror.
Not my people .
