I just spent 4 whole days without my phone or laptop, tablet. No work, news, social media, games. text etc... NOTHING. It was so refreshing!

Now some loser is going to point out that you just posted about it on social media. There's one in every crowd.
Don't worry

So, you felt the need to brag about it on the Internet looking for validation? You must have been sooo bored. I wish everyone who hates technology would stop using the Internet to post confessions. At least, you wouldn't be a hypocrite the way you are now.

that while it's amazing that we can connect with people we would never have met if not for the internet,
It distracts us from our current rl connections.
The way to improve the world is to start with your own surrounding world.
Last week I watched 5 minutes of porn
Jul 23, 2019 at 5:51am
where a straight guy, (apparently unaware that he was being videoed) scrolled through his phone the full time that he was receiving oral service from a gay guy. I don't know if he was multitasking or what, but I laughed all the way through it.
PLEASE, know when to put your phone away!

I did all of the things you mentioned, as well as some other projects and hobbies I've been putting off. For some time now I've also made sure I never have my phone out when others are around so I can be present when I'm with other humans. We give our phones so much facetime and not a lot of people give full facetime to their friends.

I'm able to have a job, friends, hobbies, and plenty of "me-time" without needing to disconnect for half a week. If you can't stop checking your social media without unplugging all your devices, it appears you have a problem with addiction. Smart devices aren't made for people with self-control problems.
