Sad Day

I asked my Dad and his girlfriend if I could stay with them for a bit cause I was in a bad situation. His girlfriend says " it wouldnt work you staying here because the bus does not run from here to town". I was calling from a motel at the time. Miles away from anyone. Almost the saddest day of my life. Family.

You might as well admit it. You don't have a father - you have a male relative who is only concerned with his sorry assed self.

For help can be one of the toughest things, especially when you’re met with responses like this. I hope it doesn’t deter you from trying elsewhere. I hope you everything you need finds it’s way to you! Sending you good vibes!

Almost same boat

My moms boyfriend did the same thing. She’s my mom but now I look at her different, it hurts. Sending you good vibes as well!

That is harsh. I feel for you. Been there.

I never contact my family because they never have been, and never will be there, for me. the only person I have is myself.. so I work my ass off

I know how it feels like because I am in a similar situation. I hope you find strength and resilience to keep going. Just don't give up because things always get better. Sending you love and good vibes.

Same thing

Both my parents did this to me and left me homeless in favour of their spouses. Nothing broke me more than being rejected by my parents when most vulnerable. It was a harsh reality to learn I am not a priority. Sadly, sometimes you have to be shown this so you can re-evaluate your priorities. Love isn't always where you expect to find it. It will appear somewhere else.

This post hits me hard. I don’t talk to my parents anymore and I definitely know better than ever to call them for help. Both my parents picked their spouses over their children, it was an awful experience.

Maybe they aren't such assholes..hard to know from a distance..maybe the issue is you? Hardest thing I ever did was give my kid a push by saying no to him moving back..he manned up to figure out his situation and solved it himself..he finally grew up..may not have happened if I had rolled over...not saying this is that situation but can be more to it

Very sad

Your father should be ashamed...but we know he won't because he is a selfish lout. I wish great things for you that choke these people with regret.
Over time, make and keep good friends. You can choose your family, you don't have to stick with people like these.
