Walk across Canada

There is a woman walking across Canada to bring awareness to climate change. I want to do the same. I want to go with her.

Awareness?
Like the growing fire seasons? Batsh*t weather? The invasive species migrating north? Changes in growing and flowering seasons? Whatever do you mean?
There's plenty of awareness. Sweet f*ck-all substantive to be done about it. Canada is not a significant climate change issue and nothing that happens here will make the least bit of difference to the total.
Even taking all of the oil companies (BP, Exxon, Total, Eni, Shell, Chevron, etc.) offline will reduce production by only about 10 to 15 percent, and the national oil corporations of China, Russia, Saudi, Iran and others will make up the difference overnight. Because demand, which is still rising.
Supply-side economics was discredited almost 30 years ago.

This ridiculously inflated sense of importance really needs to end.

I think this sort of fundraising attempt is the stupidest, most wasteful, inefficient, narcissistic way of trying to raise money. My guess is that in most cases, the cost of doing the activity will be higher than the money donated. Just skip the walk, mountain climb, bike ride, or whatever, and give the money you would have spent to a charity already doing that kind of work. Leave your friends alone and stop asking for money to feed your need for attention and feeling good.

I wish

You were not correct in your kinda mean response.. Not much can be done..
Humans have almost killed this planet.
No one seems to care.
But unfortunately we all soon will care.
You cant live without water but you can live without oil. And you will have to soon because its running out.
How much do you think a litre of water will cost when its almost gone.
And what will people do to control it or get to the last bit of clean water.

@you said it first
Facts are important.
Grandstanding people that make big, empty symbolic gestures, are not.
It's ignorance, hubris and megalomania to think otherwise. Those who do such things are no better than the Instagram influencers posting selfies from Chernobyl. This "Walk Across Whatever" is just publicized and branded ideological self-flagellation, and opportunistic self-promotion. Like political figures flying in on bespoke aircraft for photo ops with oppressed minorities.
Practical outcome for the species and the biosphere is net negative.

You think that’s going to accomplish anything? Total waste of time unless you simply feel like walking across Canada just for the hell of it. You could have 100 people walk across Canada and raise thousands of dollars and it still won’t make any difference to climate change nor will it make anyone any more aware of it than they already are.

I think...

The idea is to bring awareness, not make a ton of money
