Carshares and lazy people

Now that more homes are housing at least 3 families, it's really difficult parking in front of my house on my street. There is always a moron evo driver who parks right in front of the path to my door, and it stays for days in a row. If that evo isn't there, there are other people who live across the street who don't bother to make effort and park on their side. I get it's legal but can people just so some consideration and decency??? I almost want to apply for permit parking on my street, but then I'd have to pay for a permit to keep parking on a street I live on. Why is this always a lose - lose in this city???

First of all, all carshares have a permit for all neighbourhoods. Second, they reduce car ownership. Maybe walk a half block from your car to your house? It’s good for heart health.

It's a lose-lose sort of place. Even the speculators get burned sometimes.
Only the criminals seem to always win, but they're unregulated and very aggressive about "managing" costs. Especially human "resources", the biggest, least efficient and reliable resources of all.
Ethics and integrity are expensive, consideration and decency more so. When I lived closer to town (Vancouver is not really a city, by the way) it was more surprising to have neighborly neighbors. Now I'm out in the burbs, where people are more civil. But the Vancouver "ethic" is gradually moving here, too.
Good thing I'm renting.

I would pay for the permit.
The city is currently a lose-lose city.

You don’t own the street in front of your house

I hope you realize that. It’s unfortunate you can’t park in front of where you live. But if it’s so important, use your garage. What do they say about owning stuff.... you think you own it, but it actually owns you.

Why should you be entitled to a reserved parking spot in front of your house if you don’t pay for it? Of course you should have to pay for it.

When I was in Seattle I saw more Uber's than civilian drivers. Things are already congested enough in Vancouver without people driving for a living.

The concrete jungle is unfortunate, but keep it in perspective. Much of this world would love the opportunity to be here. They even risk their lives jumping in leaky boats to make it to the West.

You sound privileged and entitled to parking in front of your house that you presumably own? Or rent, whatever. That’s the cost of driving in the city, so buck up buddy, and fork out for that parking pass. Or buy a house on the with a garage all your own. But seriously you sound kind of pathetic. Also, get could get with the program and join a car share, it’s awesome.

Hey there Mr. Entitled Parking Man

cry me a fucking river. if that evo was an actual owned car, by one of your neighbors, what would you do? are you the guy who placed a badly written bite on the windshield of an evo parked on my street: "please no park my spott" even though the "spott" happened to be right in front of MY house? hmmm.....last I checked, the city owns the parking "spotts", not you. keep in mind also, some of these so called "lazy" people you refer to may have recently broken their foot or require foot surgery (true story).....tired of entitled people like you. if you didnt get rid of your garage to put up a friggin laneway house, Greedy McGreedypants, maybe you could have some great covered and secure parking in your garage..........lame....
