Just your average white guy

born and raised here. I’ve been watching the Hong Kong protests on the News and I have to admit that I’m impressed with the tenacity of the protesters. What I’m not impressed with is watching this play out on Vancouver streets. I starting to have negative thoughts about both sides now.

they moved out of their overly inflated house and moved back to HK/China. I find it hilarious that they feel so strongly about their intentions but still need to hide behind their masks even though their in Canada! Come on now, if you really want to make a difference stand up and don’t be a pussy without claws or teeth. I feel for you and all the Canadians before you who’ve lost their house because you had lots of money when you discovered Canada is open for business and moved here even though your heart and other memories lives strong in China. And did they really think China would wait 50yrs before taking over Honk Kong?

When I see Chinese Government loyalists who support the oppressive hardline communist regime that scares me. Nationalism and pride in your oppression is a terrible global trend. I think China is so afraid of their own people they take great lengths to keep them from knowing what true freedom is.

The irony of “pro-Beijing” protesters who are allowed the freedom to express their beliefs, the right to assemble in public while they live in a free progressive society in Vancouver Canada.

Moving to Canada from China isn’t just about economic opportunities, it’s about leaving behind a totalitarian regime.

I fully support the Umbrella movement and their desire for self determination, free expression and democracy.

Meanwhile, the Chinese government has created “re-education” camps to indocrinate and keep tabs on over one million citizens of the ethnic minority Uighar community.

The protesters protesting again the Chinese government & all the repressing there (made to look like Chinese capitalism), but I can't understand the pro Chinese protesters.....maybe someone can go up up to them & ask if the Chinese government is so great why is it holding the 2 Canadians hostage there (of course they call it detained).....I wonder what these pro Chinese protesters would say about that
