Most workplaces of our day aren't really optimized for in-house promotions, except in megacorps where procedure encourages in-house and political cronyism. Versus the external sort favored in smaller firms (especially nepotism).
So it's not The Organization (Inc.) anymore. It's You, Inc. Employers have become freelancer aggregators. Most are nothing more than a bunch of side-hustlers temporarily flying in close formation. Always pending restructuring, layoffs, outsourcing, relocation or automation.

Shift jobs every one or two years, three at most. Especially while you're young. That's the fastest (and increasingly the only) route to promotion and raises. Also prudent because employers grow stale over time, and become complacent about your contributions.
It's how things are. You can try to change them, if you like. Good luck with that.

love your job, it doesn't feel like work...others will pick up on this and you should get the recognition you deserve. Just don't demand or expect it.

You can make the company a lot of money like I did.
You can make other people’s metrics shine.
You can save the company money by being an efficient and problem-solving worker.
But they will pretty much NEVER give you more money in salary, in bonuses, nor any promotion. They like you just the way you are: status quo wage and busting your butt for their gain.
If you have the character for it (I sure don’t),suck up to the upper management and get promoted. Otherwise, move to a new company and gain a better title and salary. It’s the only way. My last company left a Hershey’s kiss on your desk if you went “above and beyond”. What’s that worth, 5 cents?

The days of being promoted for being a hard working loyal soldier are long gone. If you are being overlooked it might be because you don't have the skills needed for the position. The difference between entry level and next step management is a lot of coaching and spreadsheet based admin that not everyone has the talent for. Solution: ask your supervisor for training for those skills.

“working since you were 14” is a meaningless statement. Are you 19? 48? 71? We don’t know how old you are! Otherwise spot on but sheesh. Now the OP is supposed to read minds AND be beaten down by their workplace??
