Cut off contactSep 12, 2019 at 1:15pmwith my family years ago.All the reasons you mention in your post plus throw in PTSD from childhood sexual abuse.Feeling healthy and at peace now after a lot of counselling and finally getting clean and sober. Coherent compassionate familySep 12, 2019 at 2:50pmis supposed to be the foundation of our lives. Some creatures are created to be solitary ie. cougar or some birds who briefly mate once a year then live alone. But, as the great psychologist philosopher Maslow teaches; we humans have a hierarchy of needs that we cannot live properly without: Food, clothing, shelter, a sense of purpose and a sense of family/community ............ I don't know much but what I've learnt is to stop taking other people's dysfunctions personally and be forgiving, compassionate & loving .......... and always do my best to heal the breaches in how family is sadly flying apart in these times. Too badSep 13, 2019 at 8:35amMy family isn't perfect, we've had a lot to work out over time. But nothing is better than being close to them and being able to share dinners, daily life, memories and all else. My parents are gone, but I'm so fortunate, for now, to have 2 Aunts and 2 Uncles left. The worst thing is how families can be all over the map in this era, thousands of miles apart. I don't have enough time or money to see everyone. Join the Discussion Your name Comment * your name What's your name?
