Had that happen. Met the person. Didn't work out.
One gets in the habit of being invisible, on a planet with almost eight billion humans.
There was a brilliant article about the myth of "self-esteem", and how subsequent research completely demolished it. Turns out, people are only special if they do gracious, worthwhile or extraordinary things. Otherwise, no one is particularly interesting or remarkable. "Self-esteem", widely adapted into the curriculum during the school years of the Millennials, became just a way to indulge one's narcissistic tendencies.
The intrinsic worth of a human being is no different than that of a mackerel, for example. Because life is life (or is it?).
All worth is extrinsic. Be remarkable, and then maybe you'll get noticed.

You never know they might want to see you again too.
