An idiot

That’s what I am. After almost 20 years of back and fr, I thought that we had finally figured it out. I actually believed that we were on the same page. That we had both realized how much we meant to each other. So tonight he made it crystal clear that I’m completely wrong. Nothing at all has changed. He’s been playing me just like before! Stupid me. I accept full responsibility for this situation. It’s entirely my fault for ignoring everything that came before and being dumb enough to believe that a tiger can change his stripes. So here we go again. I’ve told him that he’s got to go home tomorrow and all he had to say was that it didn’t take long! This guy has been LIVING at my place for 3 months without paying one cent of costs other than some groceries, but he’s actually got the gall to suggest that the problem is mine. Like I said, stupid me!

Well, technically...
If you've been enabling somebody like that for 20 years. And he's unquestionably a douchebag to you. And you somehow convinced yourself that he's different now. Though he's very obviously not. Then he's correct, in the strictly factual sense. The problem is, indeed, yours.
But if you finally fix it, then maybe the future won't look like more of the past.

Hmmm well perhaps he's unable to make pmt to your rent or mortgage, due to experiencing a hard turn of luck, and unable to fit the bill ...does this make him ,"unlovable" or "unloving" "when the going gets tough, stand for the loVe? Please be supportive stick with solutions that embrace Caring/love .. ..just saying, please don't shoot yourself in the foot, (lose out on good companionship) realize we are dealing with a dehumanizing housing crisis.

This could be me in 20 years if I’m not careful. The guy is such a loser and I need to just let him go leech off someone else until there is no one else to leech from and he finds himself his own problem.
