My mental health is failing

And it’s scary. Leaving taps running, losing stuff, forgetting names, confusion answering questions. I’m 65 and am going to talk to my doctor. Very fit physically but it doesn’t help too much when the brain starts going AWOL.

then try reading everyday.
Reading is like exercise for the brain.

but its not the be-all and end-all. Suggest you check a naturopathic dr. also. They certainly helped me.

Don't assume the worst, it could be normal effects of aging made worse by stress/lack of sleep etc.

There are medications and treatments to slow down brain aging. Run don't walk to get them, they work better when you get on them before damage is done.

Happening to pretty much everyone I know who is around the same age. Forgetfulness is even common for young people also, if they have a busy lifestyle. Our brain can only handle so much data before it starts downloading into archives automatically lol. I find that forcing myself to challenge my brain by learning new things helps it to keep in shape, but I think all of us will be coping with an excess of information and the side effects of that, at some point.

I read and write Confessions very day, and I am at least as sharp as when I started!
