Value Pillage ... I mean Village...

Is it a thrift store, or a grift store? Seriously. Their pricing is out of control. It’s less expensive to buy fast fashion and dollar store items brand new. Why are we being punished for not creating more garbage on the planet? Boycott VV!!!

Value Village is owned by an American publicly traded conglomerate. A 50% share is owned by by Berkshire partners and the other is owned by Leonard Green and partners. It's a for profit business and share holders want their profits. What gets me is when people donate clothing to Value Village directly. Value Village buys clothes by the shipping container by bidding against other businesses then sorts it and ships it. Don't give them any donations directly. Give your clothing to a actual charity so they can sell it to feed or house the poor etc...

Value Village is actually a for-profit company. They aren't a charity - at all. Look 'em up.

An old t shirt is now 10 bucks and jeans to for 20. It’s cheaper for me to go to Old Navy for new clothes. I really miss the old Value Village.

Their greed is sickening

They get their second hand stuff for free, which has probably been recycled through their store multiple times, and then they charge like it's new. >:(

When items don’t sell they just toss them out. They don’t recycle home goods or shoes or toys!

They are tag buyers and sellers. Did my masters thesis on the thrift stores and learned a lot about VV. Watch the doc TShirt travels for more info on stores like VV!
