I am quite perplexed by Vancouvers tendency to hate conservatism so much.

As conservatives go, the Canadian Conservative party is quite liberal.

I know a lot of people think that conservatives want to abolish equality for certain demographics, and they fear certain conservative people's views on abortion. But I try to think logically.

Politicians are rather intelligent people, and I would have to admit this even about the ones I dont like. And although they are certainly not one with the average joe, they are pretty aware of their environment.

If people think the conservatives are gonna get elected and abolish the pride parade and criminalize abortions, that seems foolish to me. They know how important these topics are to Canadians as a whole, and the backlash that would come if they tried to overturn these progressive movements.

I'm not trying to convert anybody to conservatism, I just feel like, considering how liberal the conservative party truly is, it surprises me that people would vote Trudeau back in for another term and not settle for a slightly less liberal party, for a few years until the next election, when they can vote the conservatives back out.

I honestly think voting Teudeau back in is highly illogical. And people let unwarranted fears enable that.

you could go and just warmly remind them that if the Cons had won, it would only have been a minority win and the other parties would have just formed a coalition government to block them from power anyways. Then smile and say "Pass the turkey, please! :)"
