Dan offers some advice on where she might find it.
You sat across the bar from me. I looked up and we caught each other's eye and both smiled....

Suggest try the real deal Old School Country ie. Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Johny Cash. Some people say there are only 2 kinds of music: Good and Bad ... but us old times know the 2 kinds of music are Country and Western :-)

If you dont like the music, as in, your not a fan of the twangy guitar sound, or the banjos and violins, or the style of singing. That's fair enough.
I dont get people who say they dont like country because it's so whiny. People seem to think country is all about your grandma running over your dog with your pickup truck after you got out of jail and found your best friend sleeping with your wife (theres an old school country song that has a lyric very similar to that). And it would seem that there was an era where the music might have actually fit that stereotype.
But honestly, the reason I dont like a lot of country music nowadays is because it's too poppy. You got a bunch of pop singers, singing pop songs, trying to put some southern drawl in their voice, with a banjo in the background.
What I'm trying to say is, I dont respect the opinion of people who say they dont like country because they dont like what the songs are about. Because they clearly haven't actually listened to country or they would know the subjects of country songs spans just as wide of a variety of pop music.

with the exception of "country swing" type stuff like the original Bobby Helm version of Jingle Bell Rock, and some of Patsy Cline's stuff. I don't mind twangy at all if it swings.
Only two kinds of music :

What about the classics, some Texas Swing or bluegrass? Patsy Cline, Hank Snow, Merle and Doc Watson, or Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, oh yes! Earl Scruggs on the banjo! Or maybe Emmy Lou Harris?
modern country is trash

older stuff like Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Kenny Rogers, Dolly etc. still holds up, even if you don't like "country" (I don't) there are probably a few old songs here and there you'd dig.
