Not listening

If I’m reading a book or trying to write, and you talk at me without having anything important to say, I will absolutely NOT engage with you. For what reason are you bothering me? I’m obviously trying to read, please leave me alone. This is how people start becoming homebodies, these experiences make me not want to go outside.what part of my actions are inviting you to bother me? I confess: I’m sick of it! Oh on another note too, I notice this since I read in cafes a lot but MEN, LISTEN UP. Leave the poor baristas and cashiers alone. It’s so painfully awkward watching dude after dude try their lines when these girls are paid to smile, but their faces and body language speak loudly as to how uncomfortable they are. (Ladies I know how it feels, I had a few stalkers when I worked in a cafe. Keep your conversations with any private details quiet and private, this is the best advice I have to offer you).

Until it becomes the norm that women approach the men that they are interested in, men will continue to approach women. Also, I am willing to bet that this rule of yours only applies to men you are not interested in.

Ya...yer all that...

nobody is checking you out, it's all in your mind, maybe you've read too many harlequin romance novels.

Why is it that men are always "bothering" you?
Every other woman laments that they feel ignored, they haven't talked to a man in years, men never approach, etc?

I often gently approach other people reading in public and ask them if they are familiar with Goodreads.
I have learned about so many amazing books (that I can usually get from libraries) from being on that site!

maybe if you were not listening in to what others are saying you would not notice/ or be noticed.

why is this any of your business. if you are 'sick of it' then just don't go there. perhaps you are just jealous. nice ladies don't need your advise t/y. they can handle things on their own.

Flirting practice -

where else am I going to get it? Sure, I'm babbling I've had 10 cups of coffee and my eyes are spinning around like slot machine fruit. I'm not looking for someone nice, I'm looking for someone who drinks way too much coffee.

... I have to take my dad to the hospital now, he's getting older and he has a few issues. Several times I have had, in the elavators, staff or others blurt out "oh wow, you're tall!" Now, tall men are sexually attractive. They're allowed to do this. If I saw a woman with a big rack, I am not allowed to go "WHOA, MAMA, COME TO DADDY!" Women for some reason are allowed to go "whoa, you're tall!"

Actually, I had this happen at Church of all places once too, a woman came in to our coffee hour, said she was from out of town, and was all over me, gushing "oh, you're so tall." Did I go to the janitor and freak out and say "oh my god, this woman is touching me!" No, I was diplomatic. She even left the room, came back to try again.

Anyway, women have this entitled attitude like nobody should talk to them. I didn't want her to talk to me, I didn't do anything to indicate I did, other than being in a room where people were drinking coffee.

Normal humans regard eating/drinking together as social activites. It's wholly illogical for you to go out to read and expect to have the same degree of ability to tell people to "fuck off" as in your living room.

This is just female entitlement, I've had women of all ages in public talk about my legs, I've had women slap my ass, all of these things. I'm not going to ruin any of their lives, I don't sit at home and ruminate over these things, but that's not because I'm a man, it's just because I am not neurotic. If you think every secretary who got a pat on the bum went home and stewed about it, you're nuts.
