BC Ferries

Does anyone else go as insane as I do when the BC ferries message comes on and says “thank you for choosing BC ferries” (or something like that)? Uh..... there’s no choice in that. If there was, not one person alive would be “choosing” to sail with you. Totally inept.

There is no other way to bring your car across.

Have you been to many places better?

I've heard the reverse - people who would have to wait a hell of a lot longer (& other inconveniences) and thought our ferries were better.

I've been taking the ferries for 35 years. They are consistently the politest, hardest-working, and most attentive employees I encounter here. I have not had a single bad experience with a ferry worker in all that time. I've known many people who've worked for them in my lifetime including many family members. Their hiring practices are more stringent than any other employer I've heard of, and it shows. I don't think the ferry workers are the problem.

If you build it, they will come.

Several buckets of bolts. Lets do the impossible and build a bridge.

All over the world. Ridden many ferries.
BC Ferries is IMO in the top 3 for service, time, and yes price.

Here come the BC Ferries moaners....whoop-de-da. Do you have a choice? If course you do. Stay home, build a raft, rent a barge, or just suffer the indignities of one the best ferry systems on the planet. Easy.

Best ferry staff . . .

. . . is on the NL ferries to and from NS. Friendly, helpful, brilliant, every one of them.

My first time on one was after a punishing week-long drive from Vancouver on the TCH. First actual smiling faces I had seen since SK.

Though I have to admit, the BC Ferries had better Wifi.
