I live with the dysfunction at my workplace because I have a roof over my head and the alternatives are worse.

Not-great workplace. Mediocre colleagues. Leadership filled with massive egos. Budgets slashed. But I’m making the most in my life right now; fought to get it. Am not going to give it up easily.

It's not easy having no one but yourself for validation but after disappointing everyone at least this way you can kind of contain the displeasure

A survivor's guide: detach. Punch in. Cursorily converse if must, facial journeys, avoid eye contact. Punch out. Break free, fulfillment awaits, live again. Repeat the next day.
