Cell Phone Etiquette...Anyone? Anyone?

Can someone PLEASE explain to me why people use speaker phone to chat with mates in public?? I don’t care if your child had a big poop today, that your new mascara is “fab” or honey, don’t forget to get eggs on your way home. Don’t even get me started with FaceTime in public. Pfft. I think it’s rude and ridiculous the rest of society is forced to listen to your dribble. Use headphones or put the phone up to your ear for gawd sake!

Gotta tune it out

I'm a male, and in the last few months I have noticed an increasing amount of people using their phones at urinals next to me. The first time I was like "wtf" then it happened more and more and realized it's the new norm.

I totally do this sometimes.

My bad. My microphone and a few of my cellphone speakers died when I accidentally dropped it in the snow a few years back. Usually, I just plug in headphones, but every now and then I don't hook them up in time or forget them.

Tune it out lol

Texting and pissing at the same time is just gross. Fucking. Gross.

I agree

I agree with you on this 100%

On another note I believe the correct word your looking for is “drivel”, not “dribble”.

Another perspective.

While I generally have had the same reaction.... I’ve also thought...
One would hear both sides of the conversation if the two people were there (present) together, so having someone on speaker phone is kind of the same. It wouldn’t be considered rude or inconsiderate in that case, so why is it now that a phone is involved?
Am I saying go out and everyone speak aloud on speaker phone, no. Am I saying this behaviour is “rude and ridiculous” also no. Live and let live, they aren’t harming you.
