Easily Irritated

Stupid stuff bothers me. An example would be those vehicles that are somewhere in between a car and an SUV. I also can’t stand people’s obsession with coffee. Those are two of many examples that I’m too irritable to even share. Yes I’m a grumpy old coot. Bah Humbug.

Grumpy or sick?

If your irritability is a recent development, and has gotten to the point that even you are noticing how cranky you are about everything, you may want to visit your family doctor or drop by a walk-in clinic. Maybe you're irritable (or more so, these days) because you're not sleeping well? Or have a vitamin B deficiency? Our bodies try to talk to us in a variety of ways and sudden changes in behaviour is one of them (other ways can be more physical - pain, numbness, headaches, etc.). Telling your doctor and 'popping the hood' to give the engine a once over is a great first step to figuring out why you've recently turned into a coot. Then again, if 'coot' is your default mode, coot on!

You'd be annoying to be around

That has nothing to do with being grumpy. More like you're just excessively anal retentive.

About 2/3 of straight readers are pessimistic assholes. Lol.

If every little thing annoys you in ways you can't control, it's because there's something underlying that is distressing your nervous system such that you are constantly outside your 'window of tolerance'. This could be past trauma, present abuse, something you're miserable about but in denial of... If you cannot choose to take a breath and not react to every little thing, your parasympathetic nervous system needs support. Something pleasurable that engages your senses, such as smelling, tasting, or touching something you enjoy can help activate the parasympathetic nervous system. Be gentle on yourself and good luck out there friend.

I'm not trying to be an asshole or a kill-joy. I'm just being realistic. I think you're naive. I think you're being overly optimistic with that pessimistic 2/3 figure. You need to raise that figure up more, and tone your own optimism way down. Facts do not cease to exist because you choose to ignore them. Willful ignorance always comes with a heavy price to pay in the end.

Sounds like...

Odd responses here. I feel EXACTLY like the OP and I don't think that any action is needed here. I have saved SO much money by NOT drinking coffee at cafes/restaurants. I drink tea or juice or soda. Coffee is so over rated. And those new limos that look like an SUV are stupid looking. Me the OP are two peas in a pod I wish I could buy you a TEA! Cheers.
