I give up

So I found a job and was so excited to be working again. The people at work seemed so nice and the job was interesting. But the problem comes in, they seem to be having trouble paying me. Stalling even, a bunch of Bla, bla , bla stupid excuses. The Owner seems to be doing quite well, " I'd say " and should be able to pay an employee. So why do I have to go looking for my pay, again. I did my hours, showed up on time, acted like I gave a rats ass. I was even nice and friendly to the customers. Why no pay yet? Giving you a bit more time to do whats right. You hear that? This is just a bunch of " Rigitony".

Notify them you are filing with the Employment Standards Branch of BC,and also do so. If they won't pay, you've started the file. And if they fire you for complaining, you have proof of an illegal reason.
But don't listen to me, do your own research.

You can only be taken advantage of with your consent.

You have to get paid within a certain time frame. It's the law.

I've had this a few times in my long career in Vancouver, my advice: get out of there as soon as possible, employers like this never change and you're worth more than this, you'll find another cool company and hopefully the next one will be integral about paying you, you'll probably find you'll get what you're owed when you show them you were serious about it being a problem to you
