I have a Bachelor's Degree in English; I still don't know how to use a semicolon.

Weird that even after you got an English degree you still equate “reading English lit and writing about English lit” with basic grammar. “I read Jane Austen/Shakespeare/other assorted stuff therefore I am a grammar expert”?
