I used to want them, but I’ve had depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember. It’s difficult for me to take care of myself. I’ve realized this year that I may never be a fit parent, and have decided to let that dream go.

Good on you for making the responsible choice. Wish more people did.

to not want kids of your own. I’m not interested in being a parent and have no regrets. These days parenting is a volunteer job that nobody has time for.

Hi I had depression and issues from growing up in an abusive enviro. Did not want kids for the same reason but finally going for it helped me heal a lot of wounds. It took some counselling a lots of work on myself, but the thought of parenting made me push hard not to pass the old issues and to be a positive role model for the child. It has been a heling and empowering experience...hope u can find some help to look into your “emotional world” and look at parenting with fresh eyes. If u still dont want kids then- great. But maybe there’s more to it then you can see right now.

I'm in no position to have children either, but if I did have children, I know I'd get into position pretty damned fast.
