the male gaze

I want to be a good man. I try to avoid watching porn and keep my dirty thoughts in check. But when I see a woman in skin-tight yoga pants I find it so hard to not check out their bum.

Dan offers some advice on where she might find it.

Y’know I’m totally guilty of it too. Bodies are fascinating and when someone’s physique is well displayed I start to wonder - is your body built this way naturally? Was there a particular workout or sport that does this to you? What does mine look like? Could I look like that too?
Well sure Angela

No. Spandex hiked up your ass or your front-bum is not a good look. I've always found this new yoga pants and leggings obsession to be revolting. Its slobwear that's akin to men going around everywhere in sweatpants. Its just lazy.
How can you not?

It’s pretty hard to miss
I agree with Annie though. I find yoga pants to be lazy dressing, and maybe somewhat low class. One of the few instances where one can say, if you don’t like the attention you’re getting maybe try dressing differently. Even though it’s delightful most of the time, I feel like a perv for checking it out

Move to Europe where everyone checks one another out. Not including Scandinavia, Germany or the UK, they're pretty passionless like people here.
Human gaze

We’re wired to appreciate the form of other attractive humans. The idea isn’t to stop looking or to feel guilty about wanting to, it’s to do it discreetly so as to ensure the other person is either unaware of it, or is not made to feel uncomfortable. Also, try to have enough class to not be gawking at another woman while you’re with one already, and (this should be obvious) definitely do NOT gawk at all in a work environment.
Don't sweat it

beauty is meant to be appreciated.

I’m a woman, and I would never define a “good man” as someone who doesn’t watch porn or check out women. With porn, you just have to acknowledge what you’re seeing is not reality, and make sure your watching habits don’t screw up your own interactions. Enjoying female beauty is also 100% okay in my eyes, as long as you’re not leering or worse, making comments about strangers out loud.
You do not have to deny your humanness to be a good human being, as long as you’re respectful and self-aware.
Discretion

Pretty simple. Be discreet, be respectful. You can look at someone in appreciation without them really noticing. That's the polar opposite of blatantly *talking to the boobs* or leering directly at someone.

Me too, but I admit I love seeing women going braless with thin or scanty tops in the summer. Love to see those nipples!
