Don't know what it takes to be liked and accepted... Feel like i'm always just trying to make friends, be with a better group, be more well-rounded.. but nobody really wants to hang out with me... how do i make friends that like me for me?

Google "Seattle Freeze". A real thing.
What you're feeling is similar but more severe: the Vancouver Glaciation. A socioeconomic offshoot of the climatological Fraser Glaciation. Appears to be permanent, or at least very long-term.
If you stay, you'll internalize this and make it about you. At some expense to your mental health. You main options are acceptance, suffering, or my recommended option - departure.
This is the second most-unaffordable place on earth. Not a new thing, either. Pervasive financial insecurity, increasing downward economic mobility, ostentatious wealth, status competition and unbounded "densification", do not a happy society make. Also, mental illness is highly correlated with population density, and BC got over 34,000 new residents just in the last quarter of 2019.
Go where people have retained more of their humanity. It's a big planet.

You make friends who like you for what you bring to their lives as easier ways to be lazy. If your good looking another good looking woman will pretend to like you, and average looking is the go boy/girl. Real friends do not exist. Those days are gone a friend that gives you the benefit of the doubt and forgives they be gone replaced by perfect people who never make any thing like a mistake. enjoy good luck
Cold, cold city

Vancouver is full of snobs, cliques and there’s just an unpleasant vibe.
Physically a gorgeous city but the inhabitants are an odd lot.

be you. your people will find you when you've stopped trying to be what you think others want you to be.

I recommend joining rec sports or some kind of activity thing. It's the easiest way to get van folks to commit to something!
