30's

I'm in my 30s with a wonderful partner . Yet not close to being married, having kids or financial stability . All my friends have seemed to have disappeared and have started their own families or the others are extemely single trying to relive their 20s. I see a couple of them once in a blue moon, but it's just so different It's so weird I feel more alone than before. I'm sure I'm not the only one .

Go do something interesting with your life travel or live overseas. I guarantee that your friends will be envious of you. I'm not exaggerating when I say my friends with kids are miserable. When it comes to who is happier, people with kids or those without, most research points to the latter not surprising, but parents do claim to be fulfilled so that's something.

I'm partying and having fun but live a responsible lifestyle. I don't party that often, I work, am responsible with money, etc. All that boring stuff.

Re-living my 20s? I don't think I can relate to a 20 year old. You have to understand that other cities on the planet are mostly 30 year olds having fun. In Vancouver, they're shamed? HAHA! This is why everyone moves... so have fun staying in Vancouver and never affording it I guess?

Yeah, because you're not allowed to party after your 20s, right?
We're also suppose to settle down and get married and have kids -like everybody else, right?

I know exactly what you mean. My college friends started doing the same thing 20 years ago. You would hope that people being happily married would bring us all together. It doesn't. Then, when they start having kids, you're cut off entirely. All I can say is, keep making new friends.

If you're 35, the doctors tell you it's a high risk pregnancy, because it is. That has nothing of judgement in it, it's just that you might have waited out the years of having a healthy newborn.

However, if you have an urge to help raise a kid, I'm sure your friends with kids would love, and probably need, someone kind and trustworthy to be on their team.

Raising kids is not like being in a gulag exactly but it does take immense discipline to keep your temper and stresses in some semblance of balance...so yeah if you wanna offer to take the kid out for an afternoon of play, everyone benefits!!

I’d never want to relive my 20s. Teen years, yes and if that went well maybe I could do over my 20s
