I confess

That I miss and hate the airlines. 25 years as a pilot and I love to fly but hate the evils of this racket. Everyday was a lie. An industry that infers safety but does exactly the opposite. Either you toe the company line or face prosecution. I confess I miss the money. BUT not the lies. I am stronger not to have succumbed to the industry.

I'm sure you don't miss the free air travel.

Ain't aviation just the greatest... hell no. As one person said Do I miss flying yes, do I miss aviation absolutely not. Could be worse I suppose. Try being a maintainer - years of straight nights, being treated like the bottem of the barrell; on time performance matters, airworthiness not so much. If the travelling public ever new. Some Aerospace engineers deserve awards for their designes considering how some operators treat their equipment. Good thing we're not killing more people than we already are.

Scary

As a person who would love to travel more I find your confession to be very scary. I’ve been feeling like the traveling public is being royally screwed by the airline industry for some time, and the absolute discomfort that one has to cope with unless you’re in business or first class is awful too. Maybe you should be a whistleblower to let some of those secrets out....

Isn't it odd

That for someone that claims to be a pilot, they don't know the difference between infer and imply.

Just because someone isn’t great at writing or literary doesn’t mean they can’t be very smart in other areas. My understanding is that pilots fly airplanes, and that doesn’t mean that they have to be good at grammar and spelling. They have to be good at math I believe.

By any chance did you happen to steal a floatplane recently?

Not to be a good speller.
Thanx for pointing out my imperfections.

I don’t think that grammar king could handle the truth.

The industry crushed my soul. Lied. Betrayed me.

I played by the law and I was “silently” reprimanded. Not overtly. Just small doses of punishment.

I paid dearly for my actions. Choosing safety over company “policy” was a huge slap in their face.

I am one out of a hundred. Don’t be fooled by those in high places flying for even reputable carriers. ( they all started off at bottom feeder Opertions ). Mickey Mouse/chisel charter Charter ops is just a jumping off point.

I’m happy to have stood my ground.

Life is short. Live strong. Don’t be a Yes Man/woman. Don’t be weak and bow to the boss.
