Loudness vs kindness

I want to shake each self-involved twat that complains about the child learning to walk in the apartment above them. It’s a beautiful thing that won’t last for long, so be a kind soul and be appreciative of your own life.

Maybe you could offer to swap suites and see how you enjoy listening to someone buzzing over your head all the time.

I hate to tell you this, but noise rules don’t differentiate by what’s making the noise. I do sympathize with you, but having been in the management industry I’ve dealt with lots of noise complaints because of parents who think that because it’s a child making the noise, everyone else just has to accept it. That’s not the case. Yes, it’s hoped that people will try to be reasonable, but it’s ultimately up to the parents to do their utmost to keep noise to a minimum.
Kids are fine

Lunch. No one has the right to disturb someone else’s quiet. No one wants to hear a kid running at all hours waking them up.

People of all ages

Should be considerate of others. Just because said person is little, they do not get a free pass. Who wants to hear kids running around at all hours? Too many parents take zero responsibility for the fact that their precious darling is not the centre of anyone's universe except their own. Teach children of ALL ages to have respect for others. Especially the children pretending to be adults.
Try living below someone else’s with kids

For two years my wife and I lived in a basement suit below a super loud family the kids would go fucking crazy about 11pm jumping off the couch running all over the house up and down the stairs the parents refuse to try and settle them down it was hell.
Try to understand you are the one disturbing someone’s peace and quiet for lots of people it’s pretty important.
Try to be kind yourself OP
And sometimes...

It’s the building that’s at fault. What ever happened to building apartments with proper insulation and sufficient sound proofing? I can imagine if a family could afford a free standing home they would. But again, it’s a challenge to afford such a thing. I wonder if this means it’s best not to rear children in Vancouver unless you have a house.
