Am I a bar person

So I have been letting my roommates friend stay here for the last month or so, free of charge. This person has not bought toilet paper once, leaves dirty dishes in the sink. We live in a small space and I’m beginning to get irritated by the extra person. Is it terrible of me to ask them to stay somewhere else given the COVID19 pandemic?

Tell them to pay rent or leave

Otherwise you’ve given your full permission to be taken advantage of. There’s no way I could tolerate a “roommates friend” hanging around for a MONTH.

A solicitor or a barrister of the Bar? Or a bar rum-head?
However it go, it's good to be generous helping where possible but you can't help anyone if you don't take good care of yourself first.

once a bar person, always a bar person

Pandemic or not, that sort of stuff is disrespectful. Boit ‘em out or set some ground rules. And start charging rent, this person might magically find somewhere else to stay.

" Its nice to be a polite house guest "
Some people are just dumb.
Need to be told.
But you dont want to be a rude person !
Hell be rude..
Some people just wear out their welcome.

They’re a freeloading jerk. Boot their ass to the curb or insist that they contribute and clean up after themselves.

No bars open anyways

When someone stays that long they are not longer a guest but another roommate. They should be cleaning up after themselves, at the very least. Is it too much to ask if they're washing their hands on a regular basis?
I'd want to go to the bar too if I was in your situation.

Have you...

... Asked politely to have things done? Your intention is to ask, not order. A houseguest in many cultures/classes does not work. Its cultural and yes, it would make you a bad(r) person. Ask for a few bucks, or dishes done, but we are on a war footing and most have no frame of reference.

As a bad person myself

I have no qualms around asking that my fellow travellers to carry themselves with self-respect and to enjoy the dignity of cleaning up after themselves. I think they call it "mindfulness" nowadays.
