Back to basics

This worry about the corona virus has got me thinking about how limited in time our lives are. We spend so much time going to school and then post secondary and then work in an office. Then a virus may come along and ravish us before we get a chance to enjoy life. Maybe my post-secondary life really isn’t as important as the friends, family, hiking, biking, traveling that I am doing. I don’t want to end up working that hard in toxic environments and not enjoying the things I love. I really am tempted to switch to a trades job or open a business instead. It is a lot of work but it doesn’t seem like there is a hierarchy that belittles and traps you until you die... not before it chokes you of all its time. Has every institution in Canada been created to trap us in this corporate hell?

Why aren't people as concerned about climate change as they are this Coronavirus? Do you people really have any idea what's in store for humanity?

Held up by radical left-wing academics who want all the money for themselves.

I would rather rot to death than work in an office.

Facts:

Mar 9, 2020 at 7:26pm

80% of those with the virus show no symptoms and recover fine.
Only 20% show symptoms, and few of those get bad enough to go into hospital, and only 3% of those die. So the actual death rate is ~.5%.
Meanwhile, in the US 30,000 to 50,000 die of the flu each year and about 4000 to 5000 each year in Canada.

Looks like your one of the smart ones. Live your live to live. being in my 40's now I see SO many people that hold on to their job as if they will die without doing the grind. find another way. Many have and are doing this. If I die tomorrow, however it happens, I have had a VERY interesting life.
