Competitive Couple

Once in our twenties my wife and I were hiking Lynn Peak and we were taking it slow on the descent. This couple in their 40s kept passing us every time we stopped for a minute or two. It was a bit like the tortoise and the hare because we were faster (when moving) so we'd pass them and then stop and they'd pass us again. It started to feel like a bit of a race. So finally we just started running down the mountain. They saw us fly past them and immediately broke into a run to try and keep up. Or maybe they assumed we were being chased by a bear. Anyway it was hilarious to look back at them running full speed down the slope. We won.

Your view of someone else's relationship was that they were overly concerned with yours and that yours alone changed how they went about their's.

If you asked

Them they would say probably the same about you guys!

Is this a confession?

No, just a braggart.
Let me re-write your "confession".

I like to brag anannymously.

I am not...

... the fastest bear in the woods due to a few injuries. I like trail runners who come up behind me (I'm not fast, but I am...sensitive, so I _feel_ them) and expect me to just stand aside for them. Lots of fun.

People do that in the street

I notice when I’m walking someone always has to get in front of me and then walk slow. Then they get mad when I pass them again. I don’t get it.

Damnnn that's a lot of downvotes. I'm not bothered really but I still am surprised. The story is innocent, right? The ukulele reseller got 3-1 up-votes for his self-congratulatory confession. Can y'all actually read?

Oh, the title was referring to my relationship. That my wife and I are the competitive couple. :/

I thought your post was funny! Some people just have no sense of humour.

One time...

...actually, the first time I ever did the grouse grind... I was stopped ¾ of the way up huffing and puffing, trying to find the will and strength to go on... when a 85+ tiny Asian lady went sprinting by me.

“Oh, hello!” she grinned as she flew by.

Jealous? Competitive?

Nah, quite the opposite.

She, happy and proud to see some fat guy giving it a go.

Me, just super-impressed for obvious reasons.

Life is not one big competition. We can all win.

Ugh

You sound like insufferable twats who cause the kinds of whiny posts we see far too many of here. What if you competed to do something actually worthwhile?!
