Leaf blowers of the apocalypse

It’s apparently going to take more than a global pandemic to shut down the incessant drone of leaf blowers. Otherwise I’m finding the silence and peace of the city so ... restful.

don't even really know my neighbor across the street, but I dislike very much because of his blowing. What's worse is the guy blows his leaves and dirt into our street which is actually not legal, as may clog storm drains!
I think the last frontier of health that our by- laws don't enforce is noise pollution. These cars with high rev engines, the circling helicopters above each morning reporting traffic reports..proven to bad for human cardiovascular health. I hope we start to crack down a bit more.

Well Then

If you hate the blowers, how about you offer to sweep off the streets?
You can literally accomplish in 3 or 4 minutes with a blower what would take over an hour with a rake or broom.
If you can't deal with a blower for a short time, you need to focus on other more important things in the world.

Many of us living condos. That means we have to pay for landscaping. If all the owners are prepared to pay 3x as much to hire landscapers that will not use leaf blowers, no problem. Reality is that people want silence as well as efficiency and for the same price. Ain’t gonna happen.

It's like throwing garbage on the road or a neighbors yard, but the sound doesn't bug me.
