Waves of depression

Moderately functioning and sad with COVID-19 afflicted people dying (1000 in Italy). Been avoiding group gatherings for me and my kid. Worried about my aging parents. Feel trepidation and question everything. Is it a good idea to go get a massage and put my face in the donut hole? Is doing yoga a good idea with everyone breathing in the closed room? No traveling this year either, too crazy with COVID-19 spread. So many ppl losing their jobs in the hospitality industries. Just feel so boxed in, sad, worried and terrified of what will happen this year, around the world.

Coronavirus is shaking world up. It's interesting how concerned people are when their own mortality is at risk but little thought to the 29,000 children under the age of five – 21 each minute – die every day, mainly from preventable causes. More than 70 per cent of almost 11 million child deaths every year are attributable to six causes: diarrhea, malaria, neonatal infection, pneumonia, preterm delivery, or lack of oxygen at birth.

Almost none of those are in Canada or USA or even continental Europe, so it's sort of silly to suggest people should be as abstractly concerned about children dying in Africa or wherever---plus, you can insulate yourself from those things by moving to Canada, USA, etc. Coronavirus will, ironically, possibly make slower inroads into less internationally traveled areas.

I’m gonna smoke a lot of weed tomorrow night into a coma to take my mind off all this corona hullabaloo. Goodnight.

Had swine flu

Ok, common sense dictates we should stay home when sick anyway. According to the doctor that saw me when I got swine flu (although not same virus): get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids, get your vitamin C and DO NOT GO TO WORK - STAY HOME. We may have got the corona virus already, symptoms pretty much the same as the flu/cold. So, don't worry, take precautions and listen to the health professionals. Being stressed about this doesn't help your immunity. Take care, everyone we're in this together!
