What about the other numbers?

We get a running daily total of COVID deaths and people who've tested positive. How about a running total of people who've committed suicide, domestic abuse and people out of work compared to what they were before the virus (have those numbers all gone up)? I get the government wants to save us from ourselves and not have everyone get sick all at once, but aren't there other options? Can we not implement something like Taiwan and have a balance between regulation and the norm? Isolation is making people crazy.

I would like to see some other numbers too, such as unemployment. I saw the domestic abuse hotline has received double the amount of calls from 50 to 100 per day.
This is not the best place to get a lot of attention

You can contact editors/reporters of major news outlets to pitch news stories. Email is best. I don't know how many reporters are scouring the Georgia Straight's Confessions sections to sniff out some hard hitting stories. Probably ... zero.
What are the "other options"? And in Canada, it's too late for Taiwan measures, plus there's this thing about privacy laws in Canada. You think a better solution in Canada would be to repeal all privacy laws because people are feeling isolated? Yikes.
Mmmm

Adults throwing a tantrum? Time to be level headed & see the priorities not getting a gigantic spoon to stir & mix every single problem up & expect the State takes care of everything for you. This is a situation that happens extremely rarely, to expect that the authorities must have been completely prepared the minute we got the first virus if unfair!

We've already struck that balance. The restrictions are a lot stricter in some jurisdictions than what we have here. Would you rather be in the midst of the chaos in the US?
Government can't profit off of suicide or domestic violence
