Alone

I'm fairly socially isolated at the best of times - live alone, chronically ill and on disability. It's been much worse since March when things shut down. I'm really struggling. I don't have a lot of people to reach out to, and when I try to, I don't get much response. Please, if you know people who are in similar circumstances, check in on them once in a while.

But because I'm healthy and have a job, my isolation doesn't matter to anyone.

Well, I used to think that was it but I haven't worked now for a few years and...no, my isolation still doesn't matter to anyone.
I realized...

... a long time ago that nobody really cares about me. I'm on disability, nobody cares. It's not enough to have any quality of life, worker bees get $2000/month each, even if there are two worker bees in a household in CERB. I get an extra $300, wow! The contempt and inequality is palpable.

hang in there, find comfort in the fact that we are all feeling a variation of what you are. you are not alone.

This is probably the most insulting thing to say to disabled people, to say that everyone basically knows what it is like.

This doesn't surprise one bit.
If they haven't checked in since Covid19, well, not much hope for them, or that relationship.
May you find better folks to share the next chapter of life with.
