Disparity

There's an older man who I've sort of known (but not well) for a number of years through a group we're involved in. Some months ago, some members of our group had an activity in his home. I have to admit that seeing what kind of home he lives in changed how I see him. I used to think we had more in common, but now it seems like we're so, so far apart in what our lives look like on a day-to-day basis. Sometimes I forget how different our lives and circumstances can be within what I've thought of as my community.

Drug addicted homeless dude, not very attractive or overly interesting unless someone blows interesting smoke bubbles up his ass. They are very strange people out there, the stranger they are the farther away you should be. So why is this such a new trend on here?

I guess we'll never know. Was he too wealthy? Too poor? Did he have bad taste, or unusual taste? Was the yard too messy or too manicured? In any case, if you thought you something small in common after years of group meetings, it's pretty odd that one glance at his house undid all that.

Not really, unless this person had been lulling her/him in with all types of untrue similarities they have about their world and life views. One look at that type of contradictory personalities living quarters could shout I'm full of shit. I love the silly useless expensive things life gives me by rolling over people. Just saying is all.
